Ho avuto un maestro quando studiavo a Venezia, si chiama Jeffrey Dell. Lui mi chiedeva spesso il perché io avessi scelto una determinata soluzione. Osservare e giustificare, sempre.

Qualche giorno fa gli chiedevo come si può fare arte non autoreferenziale, essendo isolati. Si, lui mi ha risposto che è molto importante per lui avere contatti, osservare altri artisti. E' professore all'Università a San Marcos, in Texas. 

C'è una soluzione per me? ho chiesto.

Non lo so, mi ha detto, in effetti non è una situazione facile. 

Ma, ha aggiunto, alla fine la cosa più importante è che tu faccia la cosa che ti rende felice. 

La risposta non era affatto scontata e mi ha reso felice.

When I was studying in Venice I had a teacher. His name is Jeffrey Dell. He often asked me why I've chosen that specific solution. To watch and to give a reason, always.

Some days ago I asked him how can it be possible to do a not auto-referential art, being isolated. 

Yes, he answered me that it's very important to have relationships, watching other artists. He's professor at the University in San Marcos, Texas.

Is there a solution for me? I asked.

I don't know, he said, it's not an easy situation indeed.

But, he added, finally the most important thing is to do what it makes you happy.

The answer wasn't absolutely expected and it has made me happy
